Self-assessment: the interview

Goals: Enhance self-assessment skills

(For those students who are carrying out an  internship) Achieved through a simple series of questions from the teacher to the student:

  • Who are you?
  • Who are you representing?
  • Do you know the value of the company you are working for?
  • What might you contribute to this company?
  • How could your presence here improve the quality of the service and the quality of the company?
  • What could you bring to the company?
  • What could you bring to your colleagues?
  • What is your major point of strength / your main quality?
  • In which aspect of your work do you feel you have the greatest need to develop?
  • How much are you willing to spend on your work?

These simple questions may encourage the trainee to make a self-assessment on a basis of a concrete working experience. Anonymity may be one of the strengths, and the exercise is also useful in strengthening the teacher-student relationship.
