Employee of the month
Goal: to identify the trainee’s/student’s shortcomings and failures and to help them become a good employee or the ‘employee of the month’.
The wall will present a set of the qualities an employee of the month should have but also a sort of a ‘road map’ for students to follow in order to enhance their capacities at work. Comparing their own qualities (or shortcomings) with those of an ‘ideal’ employee of the month can help the students to evaluate their performance potential.
On the basis of their own opinion, background and experience, each student can propose a fundamental quality or strength that the employee of the month should possess and identify weaknesses that could prevent someone from being nominated ‘employee of the month’. These qualities or weaknesses will be written on a sheet, representing a ‘brick’, and used to form a wall on which the teacher can display the picture of the ‘employee of the month’.
For the students who have not been selected as ‘employee of the month’, the wall can be considered as a sort of a ‘road map’ to which they can refer and compare these qualities with their own qualities (existing or yet to be acquired). It can also constitute a concrete proposal for enhancing their own skills or reducing their potential failures in a particular situation. Starting with these points, the teacher can then easily draw up a SWOT analysis diagram and so start to use a more complex methodology with the students.
On the basis of their own opinions, background and experience, each student can put forward a fundamental quality or strength the ‘employee of the month’ should possess or list weaknesses that could stop a nominee being chosen as ‘employee of the month’. These qualities or weaknesses will be written on a sheet, representing a ‘brick’ forming a wall on which the teacher can display the picture of the ‘employee of the month’.
Each student could propose, according to his/her opinion, background and experience a fundamental quality and a point of strength the “employee of the month” should possess or weaknesses that could stop a nominee to the “employee of the month”. These qualities or weaknesses will be written on a sheet, representing a “brick” forming a wall on which the teacher could hang the picture of the “employee of the month”.
